Also, with some distance between us and Nirvana, it’s very clear they didn’t sell out at all and clearly went the other way. Either way I’m happy that both Pixies and Nirvana existedThat’s a pretty solid assessment. I think I’d consider Doolittle “the best” but I really love listening to Trompe Le Monde...which is pretty polarizing to Pixies fans. But to distill your comment down to a single sentence; every Pixies album is great straight through, but which one depends on your taste.Fuck yeah. One of my favorite bands of all time. I was lucky enough to see them live in Chicago in 2014, they melted my face off.I don't want to agree with you but I do. The Pixies are far and away my favorite band. The current stuff the Pixies is putting out definitely sounds like it's a Frank Black solo more than the Pixies. I can get into some of it, but it's just not the same. I know artists evolve...I just want some more raw, punky sounding songs about subversive subjects.You know, I’ve had a lot friends tell me I would dig them and should check them out more than I have, and I love one of their acoustic live performances I found on YouTube but you seriously just made me feel like, for the first time, that I truly had missed out on such a versatile and interesting band. Time to hit the books, thanks brother/sister/other!!
